I was so saddened to hear of Jackie's passing today. She was my favorite boss ever when we worked at Gate City Savings and Loan which is now Truist. I heard her talking all the time as to how much she loved all of her family. She could not be more supportive of me having to leave due to MS. Then she had to battle the same. But still so upbeat like Jackie always was. I love you Jackie & always will.

I would like to add these comments to my earlier post of memories with Jackie. I first met Jackie when we attended a private kindergarten run by Miss Gernell Coleman in a house on Henry Street in 1956. There were about ten students in our class. There was no public kindergarten for black children in 1956. Jackie and I became best friends at 5 years old. We often talked about our memories of class lining up and going to get ice cream at the diary that bottled milk. I believe it was called Meadows Diary.

I sent Jackie a picture of her when she was a little girl. I explained to her that my uncle Lynn and aunt Bertha Cohen had the picture She and your family lived next to them for years. They were great friends and church family for years. I remember both Cookie and Jackie. Prayers for all of you. She has her wings

I can't even begin to say how sad I am about Jackie's passing. I first met Jackie when we were in kindergarten at 5 years old. She was my first best friend. We remained friends all through our school years and even into adulthood. I loved her very much. I'm going to miss Jackie. Rest well my friend until we meet again.

My heart goes out to the Allen Family. Jackie was a very loving friend that will truly be missed. She was loved by so many of my family and friends. She was a member of African American Women living with MS on Facebook. She would offer advice to people that had difficulty living with MS.
