On a sun-filled Saturday morning, March 28, 2026, surrounded by peace and the presence of the Lord, Janice Denise Lea-Hall gently entered into eternal rest in the loving arms of Jesus Christ.
Janice Denise Lea-Hall was born on May 17, 1961, in Danville, Virginia, to the late Mildred Ruzie Lea. Janice was born as the only child and raised alongside her grandparents Linard and Elizabeth Janie Lea of Danville, Virginia. She professed hope in Christ at an early age from various churches. She had a nurturing and lifelong relationship with God. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived daily through her kindness, humility, and service to others. Janice spent many years taking care of various family members and attending school. She graduated from Averett University with a Master’s Degree in Psychology. Her academic achievement reflected her passion for understanding and helping others, as well as her perseverance and intelligence.
Janice Lea-Hall married Johnny Irvin Hall from Dry Fork, Virginia. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. She gave birth to one daughter, Jocelyn Irvana Hall. Janice has one granddaughter named Julianne Hall-Scales. Julianne fondly gave her grandmother, Janice, the name “YaYa”. Janice cherished the name dearly.
Janice spent the last several years embracing a life of retirement while taking care of her immediate family and serving God at home. She found peace in the simple but meaningful moments—speaking with loved ones, offering encouragement, and sharing her wisdom. She loved to sit at the beach and enjoy God’s wonderful creation with her husband, daughter and granddaughter. Those moments brought her happiness and serenity. She will always be remembered for her strong and loving personality. Janice embodied the true meaning of a Christian woman. She was kind, humble, loyal, intelligent, and self-sacrificing. Her life was a powerful reflection of God’s love and the work of the Holy Spirit within her. Janice gave without expecting anything in return, loved everyone unconditionally, and was a source of comfort/security for her family.
Though Janice is no longer with us in body, her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
