Obituary For Jerline Arline Lewis
Jerline Arline Lewis, 91 of Eden, NC passed Thursday, May 29, 2025. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Little Bethlehem Christian Church 110 Piney Fork Church Road. Eden, NC. The “Celebration of Life” will begin at 12:00 Noon with interment following at Roselawn Memorial Gardens 1821 Ashley Loop Reidsville, NC.
Mrs. Jerline McCollum Lewis was born to the late Jessie A. McCollum on June 5, 1933. She departed her life on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Cypress Valley Nursing and Rehabilitations, Reidsville, NC. She was married to the love of her life, the late Curtis Lee Lewis, Sr., and to their union nine children was born: Glenn, Mark, Vanessa, Jerome, Marjorie, Gerald, Derenda, Syliva and Christopher. They also had 3 stepchildren, Patricia, James and Curtis, Jr.
Jerline went to Douglass High School, where she graduated in the Class of 1951. She worked in Retail and was a stay-at-home, Mom. She joined Little Bethelhem Christian Church at an early age and remained there until her health failed. She was totally committed to the Lord and always gave the Lord praise. She was the president of the Christian Women Fellowship and Missionary for the community. She was an honorary mother and always done missionary work and made posters for the church. She always had a scripture for you with encouraging words.
Jerline was a caregiver for her husband, mother and brother. She took care of all the grandchildren and loved them all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lee Lewis, Sr. and her siblings, Charles, Julius and Marjorie. Also, her children, Glenn, Mark, Vanessa, Gerald and stepchildren; Patricia, Curtis Jr., and granddaughter, Darenda and grandson, Gary, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters; Marjorie Blackwell (Gary), Derenda Robinson (Nathan) both of Eden, NC, Sylvia Betz of Waldort, MD, sons; Jerome Lewis (Mark) of Cathedral City, CA, Christopher Lewis (Shimonda) of Eden, NC, daughter-in-law; Nancy Lewis of Eden, NC She had 22 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. Nieces; Julia Williams McCollum, Jerry McCollum, Devon McCollum, Ronnie Dow. Special cousins; Floretta Hill, Trudell Broadnax and Odessa and Odella Covington along with a host of relatives and friends.
