Obituary For Johnny David Terry, Jr.

Johnny David Terry, Jr, 66 of Reidsville, NC passed Thursday, August 31, 2023. Public viewing will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Eden NC with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Terry Family Cemetery, located at 791 Mars Road, Axton, VA.

Mr. Johnny Davis Terry, Jr. of 170 Jerrell Rd., Reidsville, NC departed life on August 31, 2023 at UNC Health Rockingham in Eden, NC. Mr. Johnny D. Terry was born September 22, 1956, to the late John (Johnnie Mack) Terry and Odessa Broadnax Terry of Axton, VA.

Mr. Terry attended Henry County Public School System and graduated from Laurel Park High School in the year of 1975. (The first true Lancers)

Johnny enlisted in the US Army and was rewarded with being a marksman. He formerly worked for Fieldcrest Mills and also Evans Lumber in Eden, NC. Johnny furthered his education in the year of 2000 in Massage Therapy at Patrick Henry Community College located in Martinsville, VA.

Mr. Johnny D. Terry and Erica Gardner formed a union on March 15, 2022. From this union, no children was born. He enjoyed fishing, playing his harmonica and guitar, as well as listening to the oldies but goodies. But most of all he loved his Washington Redskins (Commandos) and the Duke Blue Devils. He believed in helping and extending love to all he knew and to whomever he may have encounted.

Preceded in death by one sister, Diane D. Terry.

Johnny leaves to cherish: a devoted son; Jason L. Terry of Eden, NC, granddaughter; Jala Perkins and three grandsons, Noah, Jaylen and Jason, Jr Terry all of Eden, NC. Eight siblings; Alice Scales of Washington, DC, William Terry (Stella) of Eden, NC, Delta Williams (Calvin) of Axton, VA, Leo Terry of Eden, NC, Iris Scott of Reidsville, NC, Sampson Terry (Alisha) of Ridgeway, VA, Albert (Tracey) and Afred Terry both of Eden, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
