Johnny Mack Manns, 73, of Winston-Salem, entered eternal rest on August 29, 2026. Born January 12, 1953, in Walnut Cove, NC, he was son of the late Willie and Bertha Manns.
A graduate of South Stokes High School, Johnny worked hard, lived fully and brought joy wherever he went. He gave Kobe Copper many proud years.
Johnny was highly respected and deeply appreciated throughout his community. He never met a stranger; a newcomer was a friend, welcomed by his smile and conversation. His laughter - warm, contagious and unforgettable - was one of his greatest gifts. When Johnny laughed, others could not help laughing along. He loved to joke, enjoyed life wholeheartedly and had a beautiful way of leaving people better than he found them.
He found pleasure in hunting, fishing and exercising. Yet nothing was the devoted husband of Ella Manns and a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose presence brought comfort and happiness to his family.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Ella Manns, daughters; Lerissa Frazier, Letitia Manns and Lavonia Tolliver (Jonathan); eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of relatives, friends and neighbors.
Though his laughter will be dearly missed, its echo remains in every memory and every heat made lighter by knowing him. Johnny Mack Manns lived with joy, loved without reserve and leaves a legacy that will continue to make others smile.
