Marcie (Marcia) Foddrell Hairston, daughter of the late William Foddrell Jr. and Margaret W. McBride, entered the world on March 16, 1962 and departed her life on October 10, 2023.
Marcia grew up and attended schools in Madison, North Carolina where she graduated from Madison Mayodan Senior high school in 1982. After graduation she worked at Washington Mills, Tultex and retired from Unifi Industries in 2018.
She met her husband in 1990, William Hairston (Bill), and they were married on August 31, 1991. It was love at first sight. Marcia will always be remembered for her helpfulness, caring and concern for othersโ well-being. She was a gentle, kind spirit who loved to play softball and eat butter pecan ice cream. She also loved her pet dog Prince and rooted for the Duke Blue Devils basketball team, whom she was an ultimate fan of.
She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Gregory L. Foddrell.
Marcia is survived by her husband; William Hairston, brothers; William A. Foddrell and Brian K. Foddrell, sisters; Rene Hayes, Patricia Foddrell, Anita Foddrell-Bennett, Danielle Foddrell and a host of other relatives and extended family.
We will greatly miss Marcia and she will always have a place in our hearts.
We love you beloved sister!

To the Foddrell and Hairston families, we extend our sincerest condolences. Two fond childhood memories come to mind of Marcia, with her siblings, our siblings and other community kids playing softball behind the old M-M Middle School; and those same groups of kids gathering in front of the Middle School to socialize and just hang out to have clean, harmless fun. Prayers of comfort to the family. Rest in Victory, Marcia! Teresa Kellam Lowe & Doris Kellam & Family

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile. If only we could have you back for just a little while. Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do. You always meant so very much and always will. The fact that you're no longer here will always cause pain, but you're forever in our hearts until we meet again. ๐ข
