Obituary For Mary Ruth Millner

Mary Ruth Millner, 78, of Eden, NC passed Sunday, January 29, 2023. A public visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home Chapel, Eden, NC with the Homegoing Celebration beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Hamlin Cemetery, Eden, NC.

Mary Ruth Millner passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at UNC Rockingham Health Care Center, following a brief and unexpected illness. She was born January 27, 1945, in Rockingham County. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Rosa Lee Millner. Mary was reared in the Church of God In Christ and was educated in the Rockingham County Public Schools attending the Sunshine School and Douglass High School.

Mary moved to New York after leaving high school and later returned to Eden, NC. She was employed by Fieldcrest Cannon as a supply clerk for many years and later worked in security. Mary Ruth was one of a kind – to know her was to love her.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sabrina Millner Tinsley; sisters, Bettie Jean Millner and Jo Ann Peeler; brothers, Joe Louis Millner, Alphonso Millner and James Millner.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories: son, Jeffrey Millner (Tonya) of Eden, NC; daughter, Daphaney Milllner of the home; two sisters, Minnie Lee Petty of Eden, NC and Kaye Frances Giles of Axton, VA; brother, Charles Millner of Eden, NC; sister-in-law, Pamela Millner of Madison, NC, along with six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
