Minister Mary Lou Robinson, a beloved servant of God and pillar of her community, was born on December 10, 1951, and transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on May 12, 2025.
For over 40 years, Mary dedicated her life to ministry, spreading the love and word of Jesus Christ with grace, power and unwavering faith. One of her most cherished and impactful messages centered on perseverance – reminding all who would listen to hold on through life’s storms, no matter what their eyes might behold. Mary was known a true “songbird”, whose voice lifted spirits and stirred souls. Her singing brought joy and healing, and she used this gift to glorify God and uplift others. A dedicated prayer warrior, Mary had a special connection to the throne of grace – those who knew when she prayed, heaven listened.
She worked in the textile industry for over 20 years, showing a strong work ethic and a heart for her fellow workers. Later, she found great purpose and fulfillment serving with the Council on Aging, where she offered not just services, but hope, kindness and encouragement to many.
Mary was a person through and through. Whether you needed a helping hand, a listening ear or just someone to show up – she was there. Her heart was open, and her love extended far and wide. Above all, Mary cherished her family. After Jesus Christ, they were the center of her joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, strength and compassion that will live on in each of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Joe Watt and Magaline Smith Watt; her son, Jr. Settle and daughter, Deyvonna Shaye Settle.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Joseph Lee Robinson; her brother, Joe Watt (Margie) of Stoneville, NC; her daughter, Margaret Peele (Frederick) of Greensboro, NC; two sons and two special sons, Timothy Robinson (Dakita) of Eden, NC, Johnathan Robinson of Eden, NC, Reginald Kellam (Shelby) of High Point, NC and Patrick Robinson (Valerie) of Stokesdale, NC; her loving grandchildren, Alonte Peele (Keshia), Montia Peele-Lewis (Joshua), Isaiah Searcy, Dakota Clark-Robinson, Dewanna Searcy, Dre Richardson, Tae Richardson, India Clark-Robinson, Xavier Peele, and Nylah Robinson and Ambreyah Robinson; along with a host of great-grandchildren and extended family.
