Obituary For Nokomis Allen

Nokomis Allen, 86 of Walnut Cove, NC, died February 25, 2021. A Public Viewing will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will have a private service.

Mrs. Lillie NoKomis Hairston Allen (Coma) started her journey on December 23, 1934 in Stokes Countya nd her journey ended on February 25, 2021 at Summer Set Court Assistant Living in Winston Salem, NC after a long period of illness. NoKomis was born in Stokes Cunty to the late Willie Gray Welch Hairston and George Hairston of Walnut Cove, NC. She attended the Old Colored School in Stokes County. She was employed at McField Industries for many years before she returned, she began working fo the Stokes County School System, where she retired again. She was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church, where she attended until her health declined. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joann Welch, Johnnie M. King and brother, Leonard Hairston all of Walnut Cove, NC.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving daughter; Cynthia Welch of Walnut Cove, NC, brother; John Webb, Jr. of Winston Salem, NC, five grandchildren; Kelvin Lyon (Michele) Welch, Jerry Welch, Amanda Welch all of Walnut Cove, NC, Kevin Welch (Jerri Lynn) of Walkertown, NC, Deatrice Morale of Winston Salem, NC, five great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren, aunt, Barbara frazier of Walnut Cove, NC, two nieces; Phyllis Artis (Camice) of Walnut Cove, NC, Willie Mae Kellam (Calvin) of Madison, NC, a host of other relatives and friends.
