Olivia “Neese” Denise Adams 60, of Madison, NC passed Friday, May 9, 2025. Public viewing will be held, Thursday May 15, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Perry-Spencer Funereal Home, 402 Short Avenue Madison, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2025, at Beulah Baptist Church, 105 Wall Street, Madison, NC. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with interment following at Collins Cemetery, Madison, NC.
Olivia Denise Adams “Neese” was born on March 15, 1965 to the late Bernice Virginia Adams and Paul Smith in Rockingham County. She transitioned to her heavenly home on May 9, 2025 at Wesley Long Hospital, Greensboro, NC.
“Neese” was a graduate of Madison Mayodan High School Class of 1983. She enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball and softball. She worked in the cafeteria at Dalton L. McMichael High School until her health started to decline. She was a dedicated member of Beulah Baptist Church, Madison, NC. She served as a member of the Culinary Staff, New Generation Choir, Mass Choir and the Praise Team.
“Neese” loved her children and grandchildren. She was a diehard Carolina Tar Heels and Dallas Cowboy fan. Neese always would get the party started with her favorite song “Just Fine.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Adams and two sister, Tammy Drzymalski and Deborah Adams.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved children: Darren Adams and Shamia Hairston both of Madison, NC, two grandchildren; Dakota and Logan Adams of Madison, NC, six sisters; Julia Finnie (Mack), Jane Phillips (Williiam), Sandra Lynn Smith all of Madison, NC, Vonda Adams of Mayodan, NC, Darlene Spencer (Jerry) of Stoneville, NC, Patrina Adams (Mike) of Walnut Cove, NC, three brothers; Eddie Adams (Loretta) of Mayodan, NC, Ricky Adams (Leslie) of Stoneville, NC, Tracy Adams (Melody) of Greensboro, NC and brother-in-law; Bruce Drzymalski of Madison, NC, sister-in-law; Vickie Adams of Madison, NC along with her Godson; RaShaun Smith “Scoota”. She has five living aunts, two uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special thanks goes to the Wesley Long Hospital staff, the Yanceyville Health and Rehabilitation Center and her care taker, Melissa Drzymalski.

I was so saddened to hear about Denise's passing. My deepest condolences. I last saw her at our last class reunion and wearing that same contagious smile she shared so many times when we were classmates. Denise really made the evening. She definitely kept me laughing. She will be greatly missed.
