Obituary For Peggy Hayes Dillard

Peggy Hayes Dillard, 70, of Ridgeway, VA passed Friday, July 15, 2022. Public viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC with service beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Peggy Hayes Dillard, 70, of Ridgeway, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2022. She was born in Martinsville, Virginia on April 19, 1952, to the late James and Betty Hayes.

Peggy received her education in the Henry County School System. She worked at Fieldcrest Mills until her retirement. After retirement, she decided to start a new career in healthcare as a personal care aide.

To cherish her memory, Peggy leaves behind a loving and caring husband; Travis Dillard of the home; three daughters; Diane Marshall of Sanford, NC, Donna Preston and Devonia Swiney (Kulyias) both of Martinsville, VA; seven grandchildren, Tashieka Swiney, Lashawn Lipscomb (Julian), Latorra Preston, Deangelo Swiney (Tykia), Tequetta Swiney, Emily Waite, Destiny Preston and six great grandchildren, Raquise Scales, Justice Martin, Serenity Martin, Treasure Lipscomb, Sir Dalton and Mason Swiney. Peggy also leaves three sisters, Jamie Burgess, Linda Brown (Charlie) and Gwendolyn Niblett (Stacey) and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Those who knew her, also knew of her love for plants. She definitely had a green thumb. She was one of those that talked to and played music to her flowers as if they had a soul. At one point she had so many plants that they had a seat in her living room even when visitors didn’t.
