Obituary For Rebecca Ann Martin

Rebecca Ann Martin, 86, of Walnut Cove, NC passed August 10, 2022. Public viewing will be held from 1:00 pm – 7:30 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Perry-Spencer- Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends Monday, August 15, 2022, from 1:30 p.m. –2:00 p.m. at Withers Chapel Church with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Early in the morning on August 10, 2022, God saw all the grief and the pain of a broken heart she had endured for the past 3 years and because of his abundant love and wisdom, gave charge to his angels to usher Rebecca Ann Martin on into her heavenly home. Rebecca was born on August 22, 1935 to the late Monroe and Naomi Moore.

Rebecca attended Laughlin High School in Summerfield, NC. Her passion was cooking and caring for her children and grandchildren. She was employed by Sears and Robuck Company as the head cafeteria cook for many years. She also cooked for the Stokes County School System and later hung up her apron at the Hillbilly Hide-a-Way. Rebecca was a long time member of the Withers Chapel Church where she served as a faithful and active member until her declining health prevented her from attending.

She was also prceded in death by her loving husband, James Herman Martin, son; Larry Bernard Martin and one sister, Frances Moore.

Rebecca left to cherish her memories: two daughters; Vickie Mitchell (Tony) of Blanch, NC, Pamela Neal (Darren) of Walnut Cove, NC, three sons; Herman Martin (Carlene) of Winston Salem, NC, Randy Martin of Killeen, TX, Rodney Martin (Vickie) of Walnut Cove, NC. Sibling; Clyde Moore of Summerfield, NC, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. Special caregivers; Darren Neal, a devoted full time caregiver and Carlene Martin, a part time caregiver with a passion for her work and Jaylin Jackson, devoted grandson.
