Reverend Lethaniel Davis, Jr. (A.K.A.“Buddy” ) of Walnut Cove passed Sunday, December 11, 2022. A public visitation will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. -7:30 p.m. at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Baileytown Christian Church, Walnut Cove, NC. with funeral service beginning at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A time to be born: Rev. Lethaniel Davis, Jr was born June 14, 1954 to the late Lethaniel Davis, Sr. and Martha Dixon Davis in Marion, SC.
A time to die: He departed this earthly life on December 11, 2022, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Isaac Davis and sister, Sylviatte Phillips.
A time to plant: Rev. Davis better known as Buddy attended Stokes County Publie Schools until he moved bafck to South Carolina where he graduated from Terrells Bay High School. After graduating Rev. Davis enlisted in the US Navy where he served until he received a medical discharge. He joined Gresham Chapel Church in SC, where he served as a Trustee and Choir Director. On November 23, 1978, Bro. Davis was joined in union to Ms. Agela Pee in SC and relocated back to Walnut Cove, NC. After moving to Walnut Cove, Rev. Davis placed his membership with Baileytown Christian Church, where he sang in the Male Chorus, Gospel Choir and served as Associate Pastor. He loved singing and was known as the "Little singing man." Rev. Davis song in numerous quartets, Gospel Intruders, Mighty Consolers and the Heavenly Bound. In October 1999 Rev. Davis accepted his calling into the ministry. In October 2022 he delivered his initial sermon and was ordained into the ministry. In 2004 Rev. Davis received his Associate of Arts in Ministry from Winston Salem Bible College. He previously worked at Roadway, Tultex and Halstead until he began working for NCDOT until he retired. Bro. Davis received a Brown Belt in Karate, his son and eldest grandson loves martial arts and that made him so proud. He loved watching TV especially old western shows, western movies, kung fu shows and Monday night wrestling (Monday Night Raw).
A time to mourn: He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of forty-four years: Angela F. Davis of the home. Two children born to this union, daughter, Anichea L. (Kenneth) Graves of Clemmons, Patrick J. (Shaniece) Davis of Walnut Cove. Two brothers; Larry Davis of Walkertown, Anthony Davis of Walnut Cove and half-brother, Joe Fling of Marion, SC. One sister, Sarah Benjamin of Walnut Cove and half-sister, Sylvana (Tyrell) Davis of Marion, SC. Three grandsons; Zekurya Moore of Clemmons, Elijah Davis, Ezra Davis and one granddaughter, Emerie Davis all of Walnut Cove. Three sister-in-law, three brother-laws and a host of niecves, nephews, close relatives, friends and the entire Baileytown Christian Church Family.
