Praise God! After a brief period of illness, God fulfilled His promise of rest for our sister, our aunt and our friend. In the early afternoon on Monday, May 12, 2025, our loved one, Ruby Moore, surrounded by member of her family, took flight to be with her Lord.
Rudy was born on December 20, 1930 to Martin Luther and Mary Pratt Claybrooks. She attended the Paw Paw Community School and graduated from the Madison Colored School. In 1954, she was united in marriage to the late William Clifton Moore.
Ruby was a hard worker, always busy. She retired from Burlington Industries after twenty years of service. However, her real passion was working on the farm growing things, getting her hands dirty. She enjoyed weedeating. Ine her own words, “I loved to weed-eat”. She loved it so much, her brother James bought her a weed eater. Traveling with her husband was another one of her past time favorites. She had a problem climbing into the huge tractor trailer truck.
Ruby grew up in the Primitive Baptist Faith. She attended Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church in Sandy Ridge, NC faithfully. One the Sundays she was not at her church, she worshipped with her niece at the Meadow Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church in Martinsville, Virginia. She was considered to be an honorary member.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband of fifty-eight years; two brothers, Fletcher and James; five sisters, Ailene Searcy, Gracie Martin, Beatrice Claybrooks, Viola Smith and Christine Penn.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sisters: Susie Roselle Dalton of Madison, NC, Mary (John Ed) Spencer and Beulah Watkins of Stoneville, NC and several nieces, nephews and friends.

This lady right here is a true inspiration to me, being 94 years old and still getting around like she's a teenager. Buzzing through Walmart like nothing. Walmart won't be the same without me seeing her. Love you, Miss Ruby.
My condolences to the family sorry for your loss sending prayers up for the family. Katie, Susan,Libby,Robin, Charles
To the Claybrooks and Moore families my heart is heavy to hear about the passing of aunt Ruby. Knowing this sweet and humble woman for years and working with her, she was always inspiring to me. I was thankful to see her 3 weeks ago at the conference. Thank her for the hug and kiss on her jaw. Aunt Ruby you will be missed. Thanks for helping in the times I needed a babysitter, your niece Alicia Parker. I love you. It's hard to loss people. But I know God doesn't make mistakes.❤️🙏🏼
