Samuel M. Joyce ( aka: Sammy or Pete), 89 of Stokesdale, NC passed Monday, June 30, 2025. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 11:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. in the Mary D. Perry Memorial Chapel of Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC, 402 Short Ave., Madison, NC. The service will begin at 12 Noon with interment following at Collins Cemetery, Madison, NC.

Samuel M. Joyce, known to family and friend as (Sammy or Pete) was the son of the late Samuel (Sam) and Janie Manns Joyce born May 22, 1936. His earthly journey ended on June 30, 2025 at his home in Stokesdale, NC.

“Pete” was a veteran of the United States Army for many years and owned and operated an Upholstery business. He was an avid golfer, as evident of the many trophies he won.

“Pete” was also preceded in death by his daughter, wife, Patricia, one brother, Joshua (J.W.), three sisters; Josie Smith, Elizabeth Dalton and Willie Dalton.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: one sister, Polly Goolsby of Walnut Cove, NC, two brothers; John Joyce of Stoneville, NC and James Joyce of Greensboro, NC. Special friends; Mr. Lee Perry, Jr, and the entire Perry family. Great nephew, Anthony Carroll (Shena). A loving cousin, Lille Moore and husband, Sonny. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and golfing buddies.
