The Coleman-Nunn Family
With a heavy heart I type this note of gratitude. Aunt Toni you are one of the first women in my life that showed me it was ok to be loud live and in color. You are a force to be reckoned with and the way you love and stand on business is unmatched. You taught me how to make that good yellow chicken gravy and how to rub a chicken down with butter and roast it to perfection (lol)!
I didn't get to hug on you and squeeze you one last time on this side of life and I will hold that regret. But what helps me is to know that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. I know your spirit lives on and I can hear your voice plain as day. I'll continue to pray for you and my cousins. I know I will see you again one day.
Love you Girl!
Mrs.Toni was a fairy and mother to everyone and every family. She welcomed everyone into her home on anyday and every holiday. We all have memories of her opening her door for us and giving us a good meal to eat every thanksgiving. She was more than a mother and friend she was a living angel. My best memory was on thanksgiving before I went to culinary arts I believe and me and stuff Edwards and Mrs.Toni taught how to make their famous family gravy and I still use it to this day. She was always sitting in that chair making sure everyone said what they was thankful for. Making sure everyone get their food. That gravy is still the hands down and I promise I won't give it away. I promise she's in heaven sending love to everyone who loved her especially her beautiful daughters. The weight and strength you women have is unseen and unmatched. Yall have been blessed from the start to finish. And yall will continue to be great blessed and flourish. I know it's hard and I know this something that you will stick with you forever. But you have me you have Misti miller and always will have Mrs.toni. She's now with us every step and every way and that's all we can truly ask for when our loved one leaves the physical realm. Death is inevitable continuous of life. At some point it'll be our turn And everyday till yall meet her again. I'll be right beside yall and and I always be here if you guys need anything. It's love and always blessings

A TRIBUTE TO MOTHER TONI EDWARDS By Rev. Dr. Marcus Barr
To the family, friends, and extended community,
We gather not in sorrow, but in sacred remembrance to honor the life, legacy, and living spirit of Mother Toni Edwards, a woman of profound grace, a well of wisdom, and a vessel of divine purpose.
Mother Toni Edwards was not just a matriarch by blood she was a spiritual mother to many, a teacher of truth, and a beacon of African ancestral strength. Her life reminds us that we do not walk alone; we are the continuation of those who came before us, and she walked in that understanding with boldness and clarity.
She was the kind of woman who carried the drumbeat of Africa in her heart. Her voice echoed like the songs of the ancestors, strong and sweet, full of correction and compassion. She was the living proverb: "A mother's love is the first medicine." And oh, how she healed with her words, her prayers, her touch, and her unwavering love.
To the family, I say this with a spirit of truth and power: you are the harvest of her prayers, the fruit of her labor, and the living legacy of her love. She did not leave you she multiplied through you. Asé.
Let us all be reminded of our roots. In the African tradition, when an elder passes, a tree has not fallen a seed has returned to the soil to awaken the forest. She has gone back to the ancestors, but her voice will whisper in every wind, her strength will echo in every trial you overcome, and her legacy will walk through every door you open in her name.
So I speak now not only to the family, but to every soul reading these words:
Return to your power. Return to your peace. Return to your purpose.
Let us not mourn her departure — let us honor her presence in us. Dance when you hear the drums. Pour libations in her name. Speak truth, walk with dignity, and never forget: you come from royalty. You come from resilience. You come from a people who survive and rise.
Mother Toni Edwards was — and still is — a divine light in our story.
Asé. Asé. Asé o.
In sacred love and eternal honor, Rev. Dr. Marcus O. Barr
