Bishop Simpson Baker, Jr. 75, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2021. He was born in Bennettsville, SC on February 17, 1946 to the late Simpson Baker, Sr. and Mary Kate Baker. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Madgeline Baker, and his brother, Carl Ford Baker.
Bishop Baker attended the public schools of High Point, NC and graduated from William Penn High School. In 1966, he was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. Bishop Baker was a proud and dedicated veteran.
Bishop Baker was consecrated, ordained, and released into the office of Pastor in 1977. He was the presiding Bishop of High Point Christian Center. Bishop Baker has ministered and touched lives nationally and internationally.
Bishop Baker will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Delgrachia Baker; sons, Kenneth (Gwendolyn) Baker, Eric (Gloria) Baker; daughters, Talissa (Patrick) McMullen, Tori Padgett; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters, Cathy (Ralph) Gray, Marilyn (Bill) Culbert; brothers, William Frank Baker, Wallace (Barbara) Baker; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones, and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at St. Peterβs World Outreach Center Administrative Building, 3683 Old Lexington Road, Winston-Salem, NC, with Bishop James Hash, Sr., officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service, 1810 Brockett Avenue, High Point, NC, and on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. β 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter's World Outreach Center Administrative Building. Social distancing guidelines will be observed, and facial coverings are required.

My hard was saddened to hear of Bishop Bakers passing. I learned so much and grew stronger as a true Christian as I sat under his teaching. Bishop led by example which not all Pastors do. He encouraged us to learn scriptures which still help me today My love and prayers are with each of you at this difficult time.
