Mrs. Carrie Pendergrass transitioned from this life on November 10, 2022. She was born in Fairfield County, SC on April 25, 1929, a daughter of the late Maggie Gibson and Maceo Aldridge. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wardell Pendergrass; her stepmother and stepfather, Mrs. Hattie Jumper, and Johnny Jumper; and her brother, Clenzo "Sonny" Mobley.
She was educated in the Winnsboro, SC public school system and graduated in 1947. She was a long time and loyal member of New Bethel Baptist Church since the early 1960s. As far as she was concerned, it was the only church she would ever be a member of thru thick or thin.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Pendergrass (Sandra) of High Point, NC, and Timothy Pendergrass of Sneads Ferry, NC; grandchildren, Kisha Boyd of High Point, NC, Deanna Pendergrass of Durham, NC, Sabrina Pendergrass of Cheraw, SC, Naquita King (Lawrence) of High Point, NC, Anthony Pendergrass of High Point, NC, Donell Pendergrass of High Point, NC, Briana Pendergrass of High Point, NC, Otis Allen of High Point, NC, and Consuela Marshall of High Point, NC; other relatives and friends.
A special thanks to her friend and neighbor, Neecy Barnes who was always there for her. A special thanks to Dr. Jane Ybanez and the staff of Wake Forest Baptist, the staff of The Gray Brier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion during her final days, a host of friends at Astor Dowdy apartments, and other relatives who will cherish her memory.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
I will miss Mrs. Carrie. I just found out that she passed away.She was always good to me. She was so nice to me. She will be missed.

I used to work there and she would come in and always get her some chicken wings... and I had the pleasure of meeting her and everytime she would come in... she would always say say... There is my girl and we would talk and she would always leave out with some extra chicken wings... She was a real sweet lady... GOD BLESS THE FAMILY 🙏🙏
