Elder Joyce Ingram Johnson, 74, was born January 26, 1951 in High Point, NC. She was the second of two children born to Anita and Larry Edwards. Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend transitioned November 27, 2025.
Joyce attended William Penn High School and proudly graduated from Davidson Community College. She continued her education at All American Beauty Academy in Thomasville, NC in 1992 pursuing her cosmetology License. Leading to the opening of her dream business, Economy Salon, where you get the best for less established in 1993. She then furthered her education at Brookstone College of Business, obtaining her business degree in computer technology.
She was a dedicated member at Citadel of Faith in Thomasville, NC, where she attended Citadel Ministries International, Inc. and United Cornerstone Churches International, Inc. to receive her credential of Elder and her License to preach the gospel.
She retired from Wayne Industries in 2023 allowing her more time to focus on her nonprofit organization call PRESS fourth Sunday deeding from her establishment, What’s up Miss Joyce’s boutique. She also was awarded at the Martin Luther King ceremony for her services in the community.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories to her devoted children, Johnny Waden, Tanisha Smith and Javon Waden; her only sister, Phyllis Ingram Palmer; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
