Jimmy, I know you are in a better place and I will truly miss you. Just the other day I was listening to "Lord Do It", one of the first songs you led with the youth choir at First Emanuel Baptist. Now you can rest because the God we serve has done it. Welcome home thy good and faithful servant. James C. Malloy
To the family of Jimmy Scott, may the Grace of God and His perfect Peace filtrate your hearts and bring you the comfort you need in the coming days and weeks. God Bless you and may you rest in knowing that your loved one has finished his race and was welcomed into his final home with our Lord and Savior. Peace be unto you. Tony & Daisy McCorkle

Jimmy my Friend, I will miss knowing that a warrior for social justice and for "Your Beloved High Point" is gone. I will cherish your teachings, your 'boots on the ground' activism, our many conversations, your courage to speak truth to power, and that cup of coffee. Rest my Friend. Rest.
To the family: You are in my prayers. I am so sorry for the loss of Jimmy. Blessings. ~Sondra Foy~

To the Scott family, So sorry for the loss of your loved one. The Lovette family will sure miss his kind words, his smile and all of the words of encouragement he shared with us. Jimmy was like a brother to our family especially my brother Donald. My mother accepted Jimmy into her heart and home when she first met him. His first impression was exceptional. We will never forget Jimmy because he was such an inspiration not only to my family but lots more....Well done my faithful friend God bless each and everyone of you and continue to be encouraged. The Lovette Family, High Point, NC
To the Scott family, my deepest condolences. Our families grew up together under the ministry of Pastor Mason at First Emmanuel Baptist Church. And for many years we sang together in the choir, learned together in Sunday School, and played together on church picnics. To see all of the wonderful testimonies written by people who knew and were close to Jimmy in his later years assures me that Jeremiah 29:11 was manifested in his life. God's plan for Jimmy has been completed, and he is now at rest. I believe that if Jimmy could say one more thing to all of us who yet remain, it would be to open your heart for a real encounter with Christ Jesus. Ask Him to be Lord over every area of your life, because one day we too will come to the end of God's plan for our life. It's nice to have kind words spoken over us by our earthly friends, but there is nothing more important than making sure Jesus is your best friend and that He knows you name. Be encouraged, family, He knew Jimmy's name. With much love, prayer and supplication for each of you. Reverend Irma E. Gunnels, San Antonio, Tx

Jimmy's services to the community were invaluable and can never be replaced. Jimmy saw the High Point community as his flock. NC Senator Larry Shaw (retired).
A very wise man, who suffered tremendously, once said "All the days of my appointed time I will wait...on the Lord." I can imagine that Minister Jimmy Scott (a giant in spirit) can say a resounding...It was worth the wait! Our family is relatively new to the Davidson County area and have had a few opportunities in ministry to serve the Thomasville area along side the well educated Minister Scott. Instantly you know that he took his walk with God seriously and cared deeply for the community. Our world has lost a great example of an upstanding citizen, passionate disciple, role model and mentor to this generation. May the Lord comfort the family in this difficult season...may His loving arms hold you...may His Spirit strengthen you all, and may He grant you peace that passeth all understanding. Our deepest condolences on your loss. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart...

A real GENTLEMAN whom I've had the honor to call my friend for over 20 years. He would give you the clothes of his back. Had so much love for his family and city. One of his friends describe him as a legend, but I would add to that, he was the voice of the city even when no one took the time to say thank you. Enjoy your new home my friend, Much love.

I am grateful to know Jimmy Scott. We spent many previous times together in radio ministry. I appreciate Jimmy's fire for what he believed. I regret his passing very much. Indeed, after his physical struggles his body is at peace and his spirit in the care of God.
