Obituary For Mr. Anderson Thompson

Mr. Anderson Thompson finished his work on earth and returned home to his heavenly Father on Friday February 27, 2026. He was born on October 5, 1954 to the late Barbara Thompson and Andy Thompson. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Keosha Gaines, his older brother, Larry Thompson, his youngest brother, Curtis Lee Thompson.

He was blessed to share his life with 7 siblings. Anderson Thompson graduated from Trinity High School and earned a B.A degree in Political Science, with concentration in Criminal Justice, from North Carolina State University.

Mr. Thompson academic achievements reflect his passion for justice and leadership. Anderson educational journey was a testament to his commitment to growth and his desire to make a positive impact on his community. Mr. Thompson was self-employed at Thompson Home Improvement and also worked as an independent Insurance Agent until his health declined.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife of 30 years, Mrs. Sonya Thompson; two grandchildren, Micaiah Gaines and Mikayla Gaines; four sisters, Barbara Ann Gray, Doris Shaw (Al), Francis Thompson, Regina Thompson; his brothers, Paul Thompson, Ray Thompson (Hilary), as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

His life was marked by love, family, and faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Trinity, 12504 Trinity Road. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Mr. Thompson may be viewed at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
