Mr. Charles Cook, Jr., passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. He was born in New York on September 19, 1973, to Charles E. Cook, Sr., and Jacqueline Caldwell Cook. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Damien R. Cook, Damaal R. Cook, Darryl Buckner, and one sister, Meta Buckner.
He attended the public schools in Marlboro County and graduated from Bennettsville High School in 1991. He worked as a Forklift Driver at Marsh Furniture Company for eight years, proving to be a reliable and diligent employee. He was committed to his job and rarely missed a day of work, even if it required him to walk.
Charles had an infectious smile that brightened the lives of everyone around him. His playful spirit and jovial nature made him a beloved figure. As he journeyed through life, he made numerous friendships, using his unique blend of humor to bring joy, laughter, and even a few tears at the same time.
Charles had a remarkable talent for making people laugh, often with his silly antics. In addition to his humor, he had a passion for singing. He shared a remarkable bond with his wife, Lucinda—a relationship filled with warmth, love, and laughter. In his free time, Charles found solace in fishing, and he adored riding his scooter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of eighteen years, Lucinda Cook. He left behind one son, Davonte Roberson, and one daughter, Carlissa S. Cook of Charlotte, NC, who loved their father very much, and he loved them as well with all his heart. His father, Charles E. Cook, Sr. of Charlotte, NC; mother, Jacqueline Caldwell Cook of Buffalo, NY; stepmother, Joanne Kinley of Wallace, SC; brother, Demetrius Smalls, of Buffalo, NY; sisters, Showcase Killock or Darlington, SC; aunts, Millie Ann Cook Woody, Ora lee Cook, Verdell Cook all of Bennettsville, SC; Vera Cook Dixon of Clio, SC and Udora Powe of Orlando, Fl; uncle, Don Earl Poe of Plainfield, NJ and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
