Mr. Donnie Williams, a man of quiet strength and unwavering presence, was born on September 29, 1951, to the late Bertha Lee and Hamp Williams, Jr. On May 26, 2026, Donnie completed his earthly journey and, with peaceful grace, stepped into eternity.

A proud graduate of McColl High School, Class of 1971, Donnie carried the values of his upbringing; hard work, respect, and integrity into every chapter of his life. He spent many dedicated years in the furniture industry, where his work ethic and reliability earned him admiration from colleagues and community members alike. Known throughout the community, Donnie’s reputation was built not on loud words but on consistent action.

Donnie had a love for the simple joys that brought people together, cars, music, and a good game of cards. His quiet demeanor often softened the room, but his impact was unmistakable. He had a remarkable way of showing up exactly when he was needed, without ever being asked. His presence alone offered comfort, strength, and reassurance.

Family was the heartbeat of Donnie’s life. He cared deeply for his siblings, nieces, and nephews, pouring into them with a steady, dependable love. His life was a testament to loyalty, humility, and the power of being there fully, quietly, and consistently.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha Lee and Hamp Williams Jr.; sisters Elizabeth Lynch, Addie Lee Bridges, and Barbara Ann Campbell; and brothers Ervin Williams, Larry Williams, and Hamp Williams, III.

Donnie’s memory will be cherished by his sisters: Julia Bridges (Andrew), Alberta Wallace (Prince), Carolyn Allen (Emery), Diana Cowans (Avery), Dorene Williams (David), and Patricia Tillman (Alonzo), all of High Point, NC; his brothers: Daniel Williams (Blanche) of Gibson, NC, and Saddiq Abdul‑Baaqiy (Zineb) of Bradenton, FL; his devoted longtime partner, Mamie (Barbara) Thomas; and his dear friends, Telly (Kojak) Harley, Eddie B. Covington and Pete Covington; he also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever carry his legacy in their hearts.

Though his voice was soft, Donnie’s life spoke volumes. His love, his steadiness, and his quiet power will continue to echo through the lives of all who knew him.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Temple Memorial Baptist Church, 1458 Cedrow Drive. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
