Fred Kennedy “Kenny “Thomas departed this earthly life on Thursday, February 8, 2024. He was born on October 29, 1969, in Bainbridge, GA., to Evelyn M. Thomas and the late Fred S. Thomas.
He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1988. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for an impressive 22 years. He was promoted to the rank of Interior Communications Petty Officer Second Class during his service. After serving his country with distinction, he retired from the Navy with an honorable discharge.
Following his retirement, he relocated to High Point, NC, with his wife and three daughters. In 2016, he began working as a public safety officer at River Landing, where he was known for his dedication and professionalism until his untimely demise. He leaves behind a legacy of service and devotion to his family, friends, and country.
He is survived by his wife, Royalyn Thomas; his three daughters, Keyna, River, and Zoë; his mother, Evelyn M. Thomas; his sister, Beverly Marinda Thomas-LePage (Keith); his brothers, Patrick Hall (Cynda) and Fre’Derick Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and fellow shipmates.
Funeral service will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2:00p.m. Interment will be held on February 23, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC VIEWING.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

Fred (Kenny) and I were best friends since we met in 3rd grade at John Johnson Elementary in Bainbridge,Ga. We joined the Navy after high school and stayed in contact over the years. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Kenny was awesome to work with. Very positive hard working guy who loved his daughters. He would talk about them all the time.
