Mr. Henry Lee Harrington, 72, passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Piedmont on September 16, 2025 surrounded by his family. Henry was born on October 17, 1952, in Hamlet, NC to the late Henry Jerome and Hannah York Harrington. He was preceded in death by his son, Antonio Colson, his brothers, Ulysses and Alton Harrington, his sisters, Shelia and Sandra Harrington and a host of other relatives.
Henry Lee attended High Point Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1971. He was a very bright student and valued his education. After graduating high school, he received an academic scholarship to attend the illustrious NC A&T State University. Henry Lee also served in the United States Army for a short period of time but received an honorable discharge due to medical reasons.
Henry Lee had a great love for different types of music but he especially loved gospel music. He was not shy at all when he felt like singing. On most days you could catch him walking through the neighborhood singing out loud. Henry Lee had a great sense of humor just like his father whom he was named after. He was one of the funniest people that you could ever meet. He loved to poke fun at things and had a talent for making wild, unpredictable comments. He had a contagious personality and never met a stranger.
Henry Lee leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Jeanette Blake Harrington, his daughter, Fatima Blake Ellis (Ricky), his son, Carrental Harrington (Tashica), grandchildren, Zane, Trevon, Christian, Deaquon, Amillion, Danasha, Nakayla, Venetica, Dayvon, Daylan, Carrental Jr, his siblings, Kathleen Lindsay, Earlene, Annetta and Dwayne Harrington, his aunt, Lestine Crawford, thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Life Service will be held, Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Manna Church, 121 Skeet Club Road, High Point,
