Obituary For Mr. Jack Johnson, Jr.

Mr. Jack Johnson, Jr. was born on November 27, 1973 to Jack Johnson, Sr. and the late Cynthia Garner. He made his earthly departure on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at his father’s residence. In addition to his mother, Jack was also proceeded in death by his daughter; Ja’Cora Johnson, grandchildren; Titus and Tauren McLean, paternal grandparents; Jonas Johnson and Ruby Lee Johnson, maternal grandparent; Pearl Dennis, Uncles; Kenny Johnson, Marion Johnson, Leroy Simmons Sr., aunts; Johnsie Moore, Naomi Simmons, cousin; Latoya Simmons.

Jack was a graduate of High Point Central High School. He was also a member of the varsity basketball team. He went on to enlist in The United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. Currently, he was employed as a Baler Operator with Leggett and Platt.

JJ, as his loving family and friends affectionately called him was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He was known for his contagious smile, making people laugh, and being the life of the party.

Jack leaves his legacy to be continued by his loving wife of the home, Teemikka Johnson; four sons, Tiquan McLean, Jaylin Spears-Johnson, Jaquez Johnson, Khalid Johnson; five grandchildren, Aubrey McLean, Elliot Caldwell, Ares McLean, Braylei Spears, Auraya McLean; father, Jack Johnson, Sr., one brother, Steven Johnson; sister, Tanisha Rorie; godson, Noviyan McLean-Floyd; special cousins, Benjamin Simmons and Arnika Green; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and family to include best friends; Dwight Jackson, Joshua Robinson, Nathan Wilson, Marcus Harris, and many, many more.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 753 E. Washington Street. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
