Mr. James C. Saulter, Jr., 61, (Clifford) of High Point, NC, slipped away quietly on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Born on March 24, 1961, he was one of eight children of the late James C. Saulter, Sr., and Leola Middlebrooks Saulter. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Iola Ezell Gyant Fant; two brothers, Willie James Ezell, and Stephen L. Saulter.
Known to many as “Frog” or “California Frog,” he would tell you that the middle initial “C” stood for California. Clifford was a very sociable person who never met a stranger, counted many people from all walks of life as his friend, and was like a brother to so many.
Before Clifford’s confinement to the wheelchair, he was the life of all parties—from dancing, cleaning up, to hosting (someone else’s events). There was never a dull moment. He wanted to make sure that everyone was “straight” before heading back to the dance floor. Once Clifford got suited up to go, he was determined to get there. He didn’t mind walking in his cowboy boots, with his towel—no matter how many degrees it was outside.
Left to cherish his memories are two sisters, Avis L. Saulter, and Wanda D. Saulter; two brothers, Gary Ray Ezell (Kimikia) and Jeffrey C. Saulter (Kim), all of High Point, NC; there are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, alone with many close friends that are considered as family.
We started with eight—we’re down to four; but by the grace of God, we will continue to remain a powerful force.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
Send flowers to the service of Mr. James Clifford Saulter, Jr.
My deepest sympathy and prayers that God will comfort you today and days to come.

My Condolences to the Saulter family. James (frog). Was my classmate at Ragsdale. It wasn't a dull moment. Love to see him out and about. Didn't have to worry about a dance. Lol! He always called me little J. Sometimes he would rather walk then catch a ride. The Coolest guy I knew. Rest in Peace Frog
