Mr. Jerry Wayne Allen was born February 1, 1954, in High Point, NC, to the late Albert Allen and Lizzie Thomas Allen. On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, Jerry departed this life at the age of 72. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his siblings Albert Allen Jr., Douglas M. Allen, Della Bea Melton, Mary Ruth Reese and Veretha Allen Ingram.
He leaves behind more than dates on a page. He leaves a voice, a reputation, a family, a city full of memories and enough Jerry stories to keep his name alive for generations.
To many, he was Jerry. To plenty of others, he was "Fabulous" or simply "Fab." And the name fit. Jerry loved a fine Cadillac. FABULOUS became his signature - part car, part style, part attitude and completely Jerry.
Before social media made people known, Jerry Allen was already known. High Point was his home, his stomping ground and part of his identity. People knew the Cadillacs. They knew the personality. They knew that if Jerry had something to say, chances were good he was going to say it.
Jerry was blunt, outgoing, strong-minded and unapologetically himself. He believed in saying what he meant and meaning what he said. If he stood on something, he stood ten toes down.
He could be strict. He could be stubborn. His language could be colorful. And Lord, Jerry could be funny. Sometimes it was the story. Sometimes it was the timing. Sometimes it was one look that told you everything before he ever opened his mouth. Jerry's story continues through his daughters, grandchildren, extended generations and the family who will keep speaking his name.
He leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters, Tanya Marie Allen-Burris, who Sharmaine Campbell (Wilson) and Franique Ladawne Allen; his bonus son, Tedarrius Taylor ("Toot"); his grandchildren and extended generations; his surviving sisters, Frances Stokes and Cecelia Hayes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, one of his favorite cousins Larry Lee, a special niece Shandi Ingram, other relatives and devoted friends
