Seasons of Life
A Time to Be Born
Julius “Pete” Tate was born on September 18, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY to Mr. Julius and Mrs. Dorothy Marie Tate.
A Time to Build Up
He was educated in the New York City Catholic School System and later received his GED on January 28, 1993. Pete later attended Johnston Community College receiving Certifications and Training in Food Services, Security Technician and Electronic Engineering Technology.
Pete worked at several jobs over the years, but he loved mostly working beside his father in the family business, Carolina Alarms. His last place of employment was at High Point Regional Hospital. There he helped a number of young people get hired in the environmental services department.
A Time to Plant
Pete accepted Christ at a young age and in 1995 he made a concise decision to get re- baptized. The road was rough, but he kept walking. Pete was a former member of Greater First United Baptist Church where he served faithfully. He was a member of the Missing Man Choir and Youth Camp Counselor. Pete served the community by volunteering to deliver meals for Mobile Meals of High Point. He also helped the Golden Girls to distribute meals to the homeless population. Pete later joined Beyond the Walls Ministry where he served faithfully on the Greeters Ministry.
Pete was well loved by all and always willing to help anyone in need even when he himself lacked. He protected the vulnerable and would give his life to protect those he loved. He had a wonderful and contagious sense of humor. Pete loved children and would often treat the neighborhood children to ices and snacks.
At his best, that is who Pete was…a protector, a helper and a kindhearted person who looked out for others.

Greater First United Baptist Church
To my Cousin "Pete" if I could give you one last thing it would be the ability to see yourself in your family eyes. The laughter you shared and the love you gave to all of your family. Only then would you realize how special you are to all of us and you will be missed.
The Gaines Chapel Church Family of Efland, NC, Rev. Dr. B.A. McGill, Pastor, extends heartfelt sympathy and prayers. May the Lord grant you comfort, strength, and peace in this hour.
