Mr. Kacey Martel McCauley, 49, of Huntersville, NC, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Novant Health Medical Center. He was born January 2, 1976, in Thomasville, NC to Gail Kearns and the late James Sylvester Flake. He graduated from High Point Central High School in 1994 and was a United States Army veteran.
Kacey is survived by his loving wife, Wendy “Lorene” Dixon, two stepchildren, Madison Dixon and Thad Dixon; his mother, Gail Kearns, stepmother, Gwendolyn Flake and grandmother, Deborah Hines-Flake; five siblings, Shawnte (Richard) Parham, Raymonda Flake, John Farron McCauley, Tracy (Lynessa) McCauley, Tiffany McCauley; five aunts and uncles, Stanley (Renee) Flake, Carolyn Flake, Priscilla (Levern) Lucky, Lesa Jackson, Benjamin McCauley; two great aunts, Mary Lee (James) Flake-Haynie, Geneva Flake Horne; eight nieces and nephews, Richard James ‘RJ’ Parham, Sharae Parham, Sharece Parham, T’Shira Brown, Tyrell Carmichael, Tiffani Burnette, Natalia McCauley, Ethan McCauley; and a great niece, Gabriela “Bree” Brown who Kacey shared a very special relationship; Karen Melissa Carmichael, LeDarrius Carmichael and the late Shirley Ann Carmichael- who Kacey considered his second family; two beautiful ‘Godbabies’: Malaysia Williams and Mahogany Braddy and a host of cousins and friends. beloved in-laws: Walter and Eliza Watts and Stepdog ‘Stila’.
Kacey is preceded in death by his father, James Sylvester Flake, maternal grandmother, Lucille McCauley, paternal grandparents, Reverend Dr. James W. and Fannie Flake, one aunt, Kathy Lavern Flake, two uncles, Tony Mitchell Flake and Charles McCauley.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Temple Memorial Baptist Church. Public viewing will be at the church from 3:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Interment will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Guilford Memorial Park.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
