Obituary For Mr. Larry Darnell Thorne

Larry Darnell Thorne was called home on Thursday, June 30, 2022. He entered this earth on August 6, 1960, in Morgan County, AL, a son of the late Willie B. Thorne and Jimmie Lee Jones Thorne. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sherron Gean Thorne; one brother, Ronald Lee Thorne; and one granddaughter, Aniyah Briona Taylor.

Larry left Alabama at the age of 9, and moved to Rochester, NY. He attended the public schools and graduated from Madison High School. He united in marriage to Diane Taylor on May 16, 1998, in Rochester, NY. In 2015, they relocated to Greensboro, NC.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his wife, Diane Taylor Thorne of the home; two stepsons, Andre Taylor of Greensboro, NC and Antwan Taylor of Charlotte, NC; one stepdaughter, Felicia Jordan (Robert) of Greensboro, NC; two granddaughters, Brielle Jordan and Ariana Jordan of Greensboro, NC; one grandson, Denim Taylor of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Jaqueline Jones of Decatur, AL; one niece, Jessica Jean Thorne and one nephew, Russell Fields, Jr. (Cheryl), both of Rochester, NY; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
