Obituary For Mr. Max Ingram

Max Macgyver Ingram, 86, passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2025. He was born on October 9, 1939, in Lilesville, NC, to the late Sylvester and Eria Ingram. Max was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Josephine; his brothers Javester, Charles Ingram, and Ernest Wall.

As a young man, Max moved to High Point, NC, where he met the love of his life, Josephine Belton Ingram. Their 63‑year marriage became the foundation of a family rooted in love, faith, and togetherness.

Max was employed at Drexel Heritage Furniture in High Point, NC, for 47 years before retiring—a testament to his work ethic, loyalty, and steady presence. He was a faithful and proud member of Temple Memorial Baptist Church (TMBC), where he served as Chairman of the Trustee Board, was a dedicated member of the TMBC Sunday School, and sang joyfully with the TMBC Voices of Temple Choir for many years.

Max was also deeply committed to fraternal and Masonic service. He served as Past Worshipful Master of Toussaint L’Ouverture Lodge #524 (PHA). He held membership in Hiram Chapter #56, Hiram of Tyre Council #1, and King Cyrus Commandry #5. He was Past Potentate of Abdallah Temple #189 (PHA), Past Worthy Patron of White Rose Chapter #157, Order of the Eastern Star (PHA), and a proud member of the Dedicated XII.

He is survived by his four children: Dr. Michael Anthony Ingram of Washington, DC,
Eva Marie Harris, JoAnn Williams, and Jeffery Ingram (Monica) of High Point, NC; seven grandchildren: Donte Ingram, Jasmine Williams, Jacquarius Ingram, Kyla Ingram, Gianni Dockery, Jaela Ingram, and Jaylen Williams, and one great‑granddaughter, Serenity Jianna Ingram; his brother, Reginald (Enice) Ingram, and his sisters, Marva (James) Colbert and Pertenar Ingram, all of High Point, NC. Max was blessed not only with a devoted family but also with friends and supporters who cared for him with kindness and compassion. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to his long‑term caregivers, Andy and Linda Graham, for their devoted care and support.

Max now reunites with his beloved wife, Josephine, in eternal rest.

Funeral service will be held Friday, January 9, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.at Temple Memorial Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

Plant trees for Mr. Max Ingram

To the family of Mac Ingram, I offer my heartfelt condolences to you all in the loss of our beloved Mac! Mac was always our hero growing up on Fairview Street. When Mac and Josephine lived down the street from us, we kids would beg Mac to ride us on the back on his motorcycle(s). As we took turns, he would make sure we held on tightly, as he would pull off ever so slowly, getting up to around 5 miles per hour. We thought we were really doing something! Josephine would always sit on the front porch to watch over our rides, as we would often beg for more time riding with Mac on the back of his motorcycle. I remember seeking out Mac at church, to tell him I had gotten my motorcycle endorsement. He said he didn't ride anymore and never got his endorsement. Back then, you didn't need one to ride! It was the time he took with us and the rides he gave us as kids, that made me fall in love with motorcycles!🏍 I will always remember Mac, Josephine and Ms. Daisy; they all played integral parts in our lives, growing up on the corners of Fairview and West Willis, as well as in Temple Memorial Baptist. I will always love this family! ❤ Continued prayers and blessings to you all! 🙏🏽
