Michael known as βMikeβ departed this earthly life on Friday July 24,2026.
On January 10, 1972, the sun rose over Maxton, NC, bringing with it a beautiful baby boy who would forever touch the lives of those who knew and loved him. He was born to the late Henry and Lizzie Douglas. As they contemplated what to name him, a voice affectionately known as "Bronco" declared, He shall be called βMichael Antonio Douglas" aka Mike
And so began the story of a remarkable man whose presence would leave a lasting impact on his family, friends, and community.
Michael attended Robeson County Schools and graduated from Rowland High School as a proud member of the Class of 1990. Following graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps. From the very beginning, Michael's journey was guided by purpose, shaped by love, and marked by a spirit that could light up any room. His story is one that will continue to be remembered and cherished by all who have had the privilege of knowing him.
After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Michael made High Point, NC his home and began building a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and service to others. It was there that he discovered his true calling as a barber, a profession he embraced with passion and pride. For more than 30 years, Michael perfected his craft, starting at the age of twelve with his first client being his brother Jerry. From there he started earning the respect and admiration of countless clients and friends who came to know him not only as a skilled master barber, but as a trusted confidant and mentor. Michael was the owner and operator of Mad Cuts Barber Shop.
Michael was known for a humble, loyal, and kind-hearted man whose character spoke louder than words. He treated everyone with respect, never sought recognition for his good deeds, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His warm smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering loyalty left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. Through his work, his friendships, and the love he shared with people, Michael built a legacy of compassion, integrity, and genuine care for others. The love & fun Mike had for his nieces & nephews has always been a part of his day-to-day life.
Michael found the love of his life and soulmate in Carmoletta Williams who is now Carmoletta Douglas. Together, they shared a love that was rare and extraordinary. Their relationship was unstoppable, unbreakable, uncommon, and untouchable. Built on a foundation of faith, trust, friendship, and unconditional love, their bond grew stronger each day.
Michael and Carmoletta were more than husband and wife; they were best friends, confidants, and each other's greatest source of strength. Through life's joys and challenges, they stood side by side, supporting and encouraging one another every step of the way. Their love was evident to everyone who knew them, reflected in the way they cared for one another and the happiness they shared together.
Theirs was a love story that inspired others, a connection that could not be shaken by circumstances or time. Michael treasured Carmoletta with all his heart, and she cherished him just as deeply. Their love was one of a kind, a beautiful example of what it means to find your true soulmate.
Though Michael's passing has left an immeasurable void, the love he and Carmoletta shared remains everlasting. It is a bond that death cannot break, and a love that will continue to live on in the memories they created and in the hearts of all who witnessed their remarkable journey together.
