Mr. Robert Edward Dunbar, 71, departed this earth to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Adams Farm Living and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on February 12, 1950, a son of the late Americus Dunbar, Sr., and Hurley Martin Dunbar. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Matthew Dunbar, and Americus Dunbar, Jr.; a niece, Ladonna Dunbar; a nephew, Ulysses Oglesby, Jr.
Robert attended the public schools of Guilford County, and was a graduate of William Penn High School, Class of 1968. He was known for his basketball skills, a sport he loved.
He leaves behind to cherish memories, a brother, Richard Dunbar of Warner Robins, GA; three sisters, Eula Mae Dunbar of Westchester, Manor; Delores (Ulysses Sr.) Oglesby, and Diane Baker, all of High Point, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
