On February 20, 2024, Robert Glenn Ulmer departed from his earthly body for an eternal rest with our Heavenly Father. Robert Glenn Ulmer aka “Bobo” was born May 22, 1941 to Ben and Eva Mae Ulmer in High Point, NC. He was the eldest of three, Bobby & Robin.
He graduated from William Penn High School in 1958. In 1959, he joined the United States Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He was also a boxer in the military.
He married Willie Tate and, in their union, they had four sons. Bob worked for Mobil Chemical for 30 years as a paint tinter (which is now Valspar). He was an avid reader, he liked to configure computers and his favorite music artist was Earth Wind and Fire. He enjoyed NASCAR and loved the Miami Dolphins.
Robert is preceded in death his parents: Ben and Eva Ulmer, his sons, Michael Lenoard Ulmer and Charles Bailey, and grandson, Michael Jermaine Houston.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Willie Ulmer; his children, Keith Ulmer, Rodney Ulmer (Pamela), Kevin Ulmer (Marsha), Robert Benjamin and Regina Brooks all of High Point, NC; Africa Eatmon, Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Michele (Dave), Sheilette, Lakiya (Paul), Billie (Deon), Jason, Terrence, Donquise, Michael (Brittany), Miracle, Michael, Demetri, Marquis, Keyana , Kevin, Kristen, Ashley, Donte, Ike, Ashly, Kayla and Mya; his siblings Bobby Austin and Robins Austin of Philadelphia, PA; forty-six great grandchildren and a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. at Assembly of Christ Church, 301 E. Lexington Avenue. The family will receive friends at the church from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Interment will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
