Mr. Samuel Young, Jr., 76, of High Point, NC, was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was born on March 20, 1950, in Bennettsville, SC, to the late Wilhelmina Young and Samuel Young.
Samuel attended Marlboro County schools and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. He will be remembered for his dedication to service, his strength of character, and the love and support he shared with his family and friends throughout his life.
On Thursday, August 20, 2026, Samuel peacefully departed this life following an extended illness at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center in High Point, NC.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Penny Young; his mother, Wilhelmina Young; his brother, Willie Young; his sister, Dorothy White; and his sons, Tyrone Young and Samuel S. Young.
Left to cherish his precious memories are his children: Samuel Young III, Tiffany Young, Joel Young, and David Young, all of the home; Tonya Townsend; and Margie Young; he is also survived by his brothers, James (Lula Mae) Young, Wesley Young, Charles Young, and John (Catherine) Young; his sister, Rosa (Dolphen) Helm; a host of cherished grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his presence.
Samuel's life was a blessing to all who knew him. He loved his family and put them above all else. He was a devoted family man whose kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love will be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him. Samuel loved the Lord and was steadfast in his faith, believing wholeheartedly in Jesus Christ. His faith guided him throughout his life and provided strength through every season.
Although he has departed this earthly life, the love he shared and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord he faithfully loved and trusted.
