John and I send our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the family as you mourn sweet Walter. We worked together for many years at HPMH and HPSC, he was a very special man. His kindness, gentleness, and thoughtfulness was evident to all and in all of his actions. After retiring I was always touched by his remembrances of me. Blessings, peace, and love to each of you. I was blessed to have worked at both HPSC and the hospital with Walt. He was such a unique individual and to know him was to appreciate a quiet voice, a thoughtful response, a caring hand and a beautifully written verse in perfect penmanship. I have poems, cards and the book he wrote, and they have all become more precious than before. Walter loved his family and Ebonie was his pride and joy! He smiled with every mention of her! We can all learn from his gentleness and kind heart. May we cherish our great memories and celebrate Walter's life. Love and prayers for Ebonie and all the family. God bless each of you. My sincere condolences to the Hayes Family on behalf of Walter Hayes. I met Walter back in the seventies at HPRH. We both worked in the operating room. He never talked much, always seemed to be in deep thought. He was always respectable and kept to himself, but was always willing to lend a hand. May you the family find comfort in God at this time. May Walter rest in peace.

Walter was truly a great man! News of his passing broke my heart. Even though we may have not kept in touch as much as we should after he left HPSC I still thought about him and the good times we shared. He meant a lot to me & to many people. I'm not sure he knew how many lives he touched with just his bright smile, he never had to say a word (he rarely did, lol) but that was Walt AND WE LOVED HIM! Prayers to the entire Hayes family.
Good memories of working with Walter at the surgery center. Even after I left we still exchanged Christmas cards. Walter was very talented shared his greeting cards and books with me. He truly had a big heart and was shown in his love for his family. He will be missed by many . God bless the family. Eleanor Barrier

Dear Ebonie & Hayes Family, We are devastated by the news of the passing of Walter Hayes. Now, an earthly angel/cohort/ friend is among the Heavenly Host. He will be dearly missed.
Janice worked with Walter for many years at HPRH & HPSC where he was a tremendous asset to these facilities & many lives that he touched. This Dad loves you Ebonie and shared your many accomplishments with a big smile! He was extremely knowledgeable, caring, demonstrated a great work ethic, poet, jogger, writer of books/cards etc. and had a genuine personality that captivated all. He was a multitalented and spiritual individual who loved the Lord.
May all the treasured memories sustain the family.
