Mrs. Annie Louise Dick-Truitt was born on July 4, 1946, to the late Henry W. Dick Sr., and Marie E. Fuller-Dick Clauson. She departed this earthly life on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 10:45 p.m. she is now at rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
At a very young age, Annie's mother and maternal grandparents made sure she attended Church. She joined Turners Chapel AME Church and served as the Church Sunday School Secretary, and she was member of the Gospel Choir.
Annie attended Florence Elementary School and was a graduate of William Penn High School in High Point, NC. She graduated from the Class of 1964. She attended Guilford Technical Institute Jamestown, NC, June 1966.
She met the love of her life and on June 9,1973, she was united in marriage to George Augusta Truitt, Sr.
Annie pursued communication courses at American Telegraph and Telephone from 1984 - 1987. She worked at AT&T in Winston-Salem as a Technician Supervisor. She accepted an opportunity to begin employment with Lucent Technologies, a Laboratory Technician in Orlando Florida and retired with 27 years of service.
In addition to her parents Annie was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn M. Bowman, and brother Henry W. Dick, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her loving husband of 53 years, George A. Truitt Sr., stepson, George Truitt, Jr; sisters, Mary E. Clauson-Jones (Braddy), Lucille Clauson, and Naomi Gibson-Jennings; nephews, Henry Dick III, and Brad Jones; nieces, Teresa Dick Taylor (Keith); Dr. LaTanya Bowman; great-nephew Bennett David; a special aunt, Ida Fuller, sisters-in-law, Willie Dick, and Angela Wright; significant friend, Dianna Teasley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, friends and neighbors.
A celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park.
