On Sunday, December 7, 2025, Brenda Harrington Davis heard the gentle whisper of God calling her home. With a heart full of peace, she exchanged her earthly labor for her heavenly reward, moving from the embrace of her family into the presence of her Heavenly Father.
Brenda was a woman who defined her life by her service to others. A proud alumna of High Point Central High School, Class of 1973, she carried the Bison spirit with her as she furthered her education at North Carolina A&T State University. While she dedicated years of hard work to the furniture manufacturing industry, her true calling—and her most fulfilling work—was found in shaping the next generation. As a substitute teacher for TCS and a mentor at the Boys and Girls Club, Brenda didn’t just supervise children; she poured into them.
To know Brenda was to experience a rare combination of boundless compassion and spirited tenacity. She lived with her heart wide open, welcoming everyone with love, patience, and a healthy dose of her trademark wit and sass. She possessed a strength that was deeply rooted in her community; anyone who walked away from a conversation with her knew one thing for certain: she was "Southside Strong."
She has now experienced a joyous reunion in Glory, joining her parents, Sylvester and Margaret Harrington, and her beloved sister, Gwendolyn Harrington Goldston, who preceded her in death.
Her legacy of love continues through those she cherished most: her devoted sons, Brandon Davis (Brooke) and Barron Davis (Brandi); and her adored grandchildren, Hailey, Aniya, Jayla, and Braydon, who were the apples of her eye. She also leaves behind her two loving brothers, James Harrington (Irene) and Perry Harrington (Cheryl); three nieces and nephews; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will forever treasure her memory.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, December 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
