Mrs. Catherine Jacobs, affectionately known as Mrs. Cat or The Dudley Lady, departed this earthly life on August 20, 2025, peacefully at home. She was born on September 13, 1944, in Bennettsville, SC, a daughter of the late George and Mary Lee Bridges. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Jacobs; two sons, James Jacobs, Jr., and Randy Jacobs; seven brothers, Willie Bridges, Charlie Bridges, Andrew Bridges, Alonzo Bridges, Leroy Bridges, Alexander Bridges, and Robert Bridges; three sisters, Mary G. Bridges, Annie Ruth Zimmerman, and Betty Dixon.
Mrs. Jacobs attended the South Carolina public schools. After moving to North Carolina, she worked several different jobs, with her most important job of taking care of her family, and the family that she helped as they relocated to High Point, NC and started their own journey. For over 50 years, Mrs. Jacobs was a door-to-door salesperson of Dudley Products, meeting and learning new people from High Point, NC to Hawaii. She never met a stranger. She was a gentle soul, but you never wanted to cross her path when it came down to God or her husband.
Mrs. Jacobs was a member of Parkside Community Church of God of Prophecy until her health began to decline. Her love for reading The Daily Bread led her to find wisdom and strength, which she eagerly shared with others through uplifting words and encouragement. Always welcoming, she never met a stranger and approached everyone with warmth and kindness.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her one and only James Jacobs, Sr. of the home; one daughter, Kathy Wright; grandchildren, Vonte Hedgebeth, Monica Jacobs, Kiara Jacobs, Chyna Jacobs; three great-grandchildren, K’aiden Jacobs, Erik Hedgepeth, and Arianna Padgett; a special godson, Christian Parker; four sisters-in-law, Julia Bridges, Asalee Bridges of High Point, NC, Alice May Bridges and Katie May Ridges (Bill) of Bennettsville, SC; a brother-in-law, Marvin Jacobs of High Point, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

I remember MS Catherine selling my mom products a very sweet lady Ms Catherine will be missed
My heart aches for your loss. I've known Mrs. Jacob my whole life, and it was a true honor to be her aide. She had a spirit that could light up a room, even when she was sick. She never let anything hold her back and inspired everyone around her. She fought her race with incredible courage, and now that it's complete, she can rest in peace. She will be deeply missed.
I have fond memories of Mrs. Catherine from many years ago! I was in my early twenties and we resided in the same neighborhood. I remember the kindness which she displayed towards my children and to me.🙏🏽May she rest in peace. When one is as nice to others as this beautiful lady always was to me and to my babies, that one is virtually impossible to forget! My interactions with Mrs. Catherine will forever be imprinted in my mind and in this old heart of mine. To her family members and loved ones, I gratefully extend my heartfelt condolences. Please know that I lift you up in prayer to YAH, the Almighty, through Christ Jesus His Son, our Lord and our Savior, Who is able to provide for you Comfort, and Wonderful Peace like none other. May He fill your hearts with JOY instead of much sorrow in the knowledge that you may, if it be His will, see her again one day! What she has done, we all must do, I'm rather sad to say. (I say "rather", for I love life on this earth to be sure... However I, like the Apostle Paul, "...would rather to be absent from the body, and to be PRESENT with the Lord." But knowing this to be true, that one day we too will close our eyes in death, may we live the remaining time that GOD has appointed for us in the way that is pleasing to Him...the Way that is found in His Word. For in doing so, we have the blessed Hope of hearing the Lord Jesus say, "WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT!" May we strive to live righteously before Him to display to Him our Gratefulness for ALL that He has done for us in His desire for us to have Everlasting Life. Because He loves us. And He does not desire that ANY should be destroyed, but that we should ALL attain to REPENTANCE! For the time that has passed by is sufficient for you to have worked out the desires of the flesh, according to the way that you ONCE walked. But is now time for you (and me) to walk in a NEWNESS of life! Come on everybody! Let's get Right with God! Jesus is Coming..........! With Love, Mel Jones🕊️
