Mrs. Catherine McCall Hailey was born on March 22, 1949, to the late Elijah McCall, Sr. and Rose Mae McCall in Marlboro County. She peacefully entered her heavenly home on February 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of family and love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah, Sr., and Rose May McCall; her brother, Elijah McCall, Jr. and her grandson, Cyrus J. Williams.
Catherine attended elementary school in Marlboro County, SC. In 1963, she moved to High Point, NC, where she completed her secondary education in the High Point School System. She graduated from William Penn High School in the class of 1967. Catherine worked at Marsh Furniture Company in the Finishing Department as an inspector, retiring after 20-plus years of employment.
Catherine was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Daughters of Dorcas.
On June 16, 1967, she married Henry James Stubbs. To this union, two sons were born. She remarried on March 22, 2019, to Wille D. Hailey, whom she loved and cherished.
She loved family gatherings, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. Her upbringing and religious background allowed her to instill sound Christian values into her family. She was rooted and grounded in the Lord, always ready to help others and impart valuable wisdom to loved ones.
Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 6 years and 11 months, Willie D. Hailey; sons, Reverend Deric D. Stubbs Sr., and wife, Vanessa C. Stubbs of High Point, NC; Cedric D. Stubbs and wife, Felicia A. Stubbs of High Point, NC; eight grandchildren, Deric D. Stubbs Jr, Kaela A. Stubbs, Trenton D. Stubbs, Daniel K. Drayton, Zachary J. Stubbs, Olivia M. Stubbs, Kyndahl I. Stubbs and Celeste X Dockery; one great-grandson, Deric D. Stubbs III; four sisters, Hattie Mae McCall, Maxine McIntyre, Lucille McLeod, and Millie (Carson) Bennett; a host of stepchildren, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 808 Hilltop Street. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
