Clara Elvenia Harris Diggs, 76, departed this life on July 23, 2024, after a year of declining health. Sister Diggs, affectionately known as "Ven," was born on March 18, 1948, in High Point, NC, to the late Elbert W. Harris and Mary M. Harris.
She graduated from William Penn High School, class of 1966. She continued her education at GTCC and ECPI. She was last employed at Monarch Furniture as an office assistant. Sister Diggs was a dedicated member of Word of Life Tabernacle for more than twenty-five years. She was involved in the youth department, choir, and, before her health declined, she was part of the Video and Production Team.
Sister Diggs was a board member of Axe Head Academy International in Randleman, NC. Her contributions to the students' spiritual and economic growth were invaluable.
Sister Diggs loved to sew as a hobby and was hired by many for her exceptional skills in clothing alteration. She never turned down an opportunity to help others restore their clothing. In addition to her sewing talents, Sister Diggs also enjoyed hosting family gatherings, during which many would request her famous fried chicken, macaroni, and cheese. These dishes often took center stage at the family gatherings she loved to host, where she found joy in bringing everyone together for good food and warm company.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eunice H. Sparks and Olevia Gibson; grandson, Michael Amir Harris; and brother-in-love, Michael Bennett.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of forty-three years, Larry E. Diggs, of the home; son, Michael Harris (Regetta) of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren, Nadiyah Harris, Elijah Harris, and Aneya Harris, all of Kernersville, NC; sister, Teresa H. Bennett, god sister, Effie Washington (Chris) all of High Point, NC; sisters-in-love, Patricia Smith, Bertha Lilly (Tyrone); brother-in-love, Pastor Ronald L. Diggs (Joyce) all of High Point, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, special cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Word of Life Tabernacle. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

To my God-brother, Larry & family: sending condolences & praying for your family & all the lives Elvenia touched. She was so precious, supportive, personable, thoughtful, & encouraging. She came with Larry all the way to Florida for my wedding in 2019, which was the last time that I saw her. It was such an honor to spend time with them. I appreciate the yearly Christmas cards from her & Larry. I prayed for healing for her, but God had already pre-set plans for her. I pray now & trust God that you (the family & friends) will love on & support each other, be forgiving, exercise grace, & pray to God for specifics to be a help to Larry. Blessings comfort & sympathy to all! Dennise & Nathaniel

She was a loving person and so were you thank you to the family she will truly be missed.
