Mrs. Dorothy Royal Jackson, 79, was born on March 14, 1947, in Wadesboro, NC. She was the daughter of the late Mason Lee Royal and Nannie V. Royal. She was preceded in death her husband, George Lee Jackson; her brother, Gary Alfred Royal, as well as by Rosetta Holloway, Nannie Ruth Brooks, and her great-grandson, Jaiden Evans.
Dorothy graduated from William Penn High School and later married George Lee Jackson. She worked at Samples Inc. for twenty-five years before retiring in 2000. After her retirement, she enjoyed going to the YMCA, participating in water aerobics, volunteering at local food drives, gardening, and being a faithful member of the Chosen Generation Deliverance Center.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her precious memories, four children, Kenneth Jackson (Tonisha), Pamela Evans, Stacy Lassiter (Vick), and Makayla Jackson. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Tiffany L. Jackson, Jordan Evans, Byron Jackson, DeVon Jackson, and Kenya Jackson; great-granddaughter, Lyric Evans; two brothers, Mason Royal and Robert Lee Royal; two sisters, Monzell Cameron (Harold) and Diane Royal; godson, JaVon Parker, and her fur-baby, Jazzy.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Chosen General Outreach Deliverance, 2440 Brentwood St. Entombment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 12: 30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
