Grace Marie Covington passed peacefully from this life the evening of Thursday October 31, 2024. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and friends during the last moments of her life at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC at the age of 61. Grace Marie Covington was born August 16, 1963, to the late Lee Jones Covington and Grace Peguese in High Point, NC.
Grace Marie was a woman of many words and love not a face she come to meet that would not remember the name and phrase she would love to give " My name is Grace, but you can call me Marie". Grace loved to dance and sing she could cut a rug on the dance floor. There was not anything she wouldn't do for anyone. When meeting Grace Marie you would always know that name from the smile she would give and that Phrase she would always say. “Remember if nobody don’t love you Grace Marie love you."
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jasper Covington.
Grace Marie Covington leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Dwight McRae of the home; children, two sons, Jermaine L Covington of High Point NC, and James "Chris" Covington of High Point NC; one sister, Bernice Covington; three brothers, Roy Lee Covington, Rodney (Karen) Braddy, Micheal Anthony (Renee) Peguese; one granddaughter, Jasmine Dean Brown; best friend of many years, Regina Wilson and family of High Point NC; Lakesha Howze and Crystal Covington two of her four nieces; five nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service Inc.

Aunt Marie where to began you are an amazing woman and you have been there thru it all and I am so grateful that God gave me you and You were here to love and care for me even when I didn't know it to know you were praying for me day and night I love you and miss you so much you are going to be missed me and my mama love you so much she look just like you well you know that and your nieces got this we love you Auntie
Aunt Ree I am so heartbroken to know that you will no longer be here! You raised me since I was a teenager! Your voice always made me feel at peace! I could always tell you anything! Truly you were the life of the party! I am happy in a way to know that you are no longer in pain! But here on Earth so many of us miss you deeply! My grandmother treated you like a daughter! I know my Mother and family is taking the loss of you very hard! This is definitely so unexpected! The Wilson Family!
It took me the longest to write this on this page cause I'm still in shock to know that you left this world now you are with your mother and your brother Jasper tell them I said hello and miss them very much we had some good times along with the bad times but you were family always my cousins grew up with you I first heard of you when I found my grandma at the age of sixteen I remember you drinking this natural ices you loved that malt liquor Rest In Heavenly Peace until we meet again Love Always Charlene Pratt and family
