Mrs. Hazel Mae Shaw Roberts, 65, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Health High Point Medical Center. She was born on February 8, 1954 to Dorffus and Odessa Shaw, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents; a beloved brother, Eugene Shaw; and a grandson, Darius “Trey” Turner. Her education included High Point City Schools, Guilford Technical Community College and Shaw University. She loved planning and being the chairperson for her annual family reunion. She organized destination reunions that included places such as Florida, Tennessee, New York, Cozumel Mexico and The Virgin Islands Hazel’s working career included Wachovia Bank and the North Carolina Department of Administration Division of Purchasing and Contracting. In 1998, she united in marriage to her loving husband, James Roberts. She later moved to Atlanta, GA where she worked 15 years with the Federal Reserve before returning to High Point in 2013. Survivors are her very caring and loving husband, James Roberts (JR) of the home; son, Darryl McInnis of Snellville, GA; daughter, Renee Salmond of Brandywine, MD; son, Travis (Tracey) Roberts of Ruther Glenn, VA; seven grandchildren; three brothers, William Craig (Carolyn) and Dorffus Shaw, Jr. (Diane) of High Point, NC and Larry Shaw (Evelyn) of Raleigh, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Greater First United Baptist Church, 1409 Deep River Road. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

So sorry for your loss I wanted to send my condolences and share a positive scripture. John 11;25 speaks of a resurrection. Jesus said he is the resurrection of life and the ones that exercise faith him even though they have died he will make them live again. That will be a great day to see.
