Mrs. Lee Frances Dumas Walls departed this life after a brief illness on Saturday, February 17, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born July 31, 1937, in Wadesboro, NC to the late George Sr. and Mary Allen Dumas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Walter Lee Walls; sisters, Bonnie Bethea, Johnsie Shaw and Rosa Kelly; brothers, Alexander, George Jr, and James Dumas
The family relocated to High Point, NC where Lee Frances attended the public school system. After high school she worked in the furniture industry and as a domestic worker before retirement.
Lee Frances was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she served on the Pastorβs Aide Committee and the Gospel Choir. She was also a member of the High Point Chapter of the Pointers Club.
Lee Frances loved old gospel and soul music. She enjoyed watching soap operas, Perry Mason, and Walker, Texas Ranger. She was also known for her exceptional cooking skills, especially for her fried apple pies and potato salad.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are her sons, Craig, Jerod and Marlon Walls; sister, Ellen Alston; caregiver/niece, Misty Alston; grandchildren, Tamika Lanier (Richard), Shawn Walls, Sr. (Meredith) and Lakisha Brown (Chris); great-grandchildren, Seniah, Naari, Shawn Jr., Miles, Teagan, Ivana and Robert. There are also a host of many nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Solid Rock Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
