Obituary For Mrs. Lena Morrison
Lena Mary Morrison, 89, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, October 10, 2020 at her residence. Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Cassie and Junior; sons, Graylyn and Ronnie, Sr. (Craig), brothers, Alexander and William and daughter- in-law, Willie Mae.
Lena was born in Morven, NC on May 28, 1931 and attended Anson County Public Schools. She was a devoted member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church for over 60 years and served faithfully in several capacities until her health began to decline. Lena loved her church family dearly.
Prior to her retirement, Lena was employed by Dr. and Mrs. Julian Busby and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cottom.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Demetris and Ronnie Jr. Morrison of Lilesville, NC; Cassie Morrison, Debra (Willie) McDuffie of High Point, NC, Leah Ann (Tyrone), Robert Owens of Kernersville, NC; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Rena Little of High Point, NC, Mary Bennett and Diane Melton and brother, James (Jake) Little of Morven, NC; one daughter-in-law, Queenie Morrison of Lilesville, NC; and a devoted niece who was more like a daughter, Sharon (Timothy),Sr. Merriman of the home; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A private funeral service will be held Tuesday, (today) October 13, 2020 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

It tears at my heart to know she was so close by and I did not know where she was. Lena was a wonderful person. Go rest high on His mountain Lena. Love you.
