Mrs. Lula Mae McIntosh Price peacefully transitioned into eternal rest in her home surrounded by loved ones on February 20, 2024.
She was born on May 10,1932, in Elberton, GA. to the late Clarence and Lizzie (Rucker) McIntosh. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Mathew, L.H., James, Postel, Willie S., Tommie, two sisters, Lila and Mary.
Lula attended Mt. Hurd School in Hartwell County, GA and soon after, she relocated to High Point, NC. There, she met lifelong friends Etta (Price) Brannon, Carrie Lee (Roberts) Price, Willie Mae (Johnson) Ingram, Sarah Sanders, and special sister in-law, Margaret (Neely) Price. She also met and married the love of her life, Samuel Theodore Price Jr. (Bubba) on June 2, 1957. This union was blessed with four children, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who faithfully cared for their mother and Granny until her passing.
Lula was a dedicated, hardworking and loyal employee and her versatile skills were reflected in her extensive work history. She worked at the Anvil Brand Clothing Company for over 20 years, worked in the Nutrition Department at the Presbyterian Home Inc. and worked in the Dietary Department at High Point Regional Hospital until her retirement in 1990. After retirement “Granny” began to care for the children in her home.
Lula was an excellent cook and loved to cook for her family and friends. Playing ‘Spades” with her children, grandchildren and their friends was something she really loved to do. She would tell them, “I’m gonna to show you how to win”.
However, Lula’s absolute favorite, past time, was attending all kinds of sports competitions where she served as an active and energetic spectator for each of her children and grandchildren. Her support for them started from early recreational leagues and continued throughout their AAU, high school, college and coaching careers. You could always find her shouting from the stands or simply watching sporting events on TV from home.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Terry (Yvette)Price, Theodora Price, Vincent (Robin, deceased) Price and Pamela Price, all of High Point, NC; grandchildren; Terri (Avery) Harris of Durham, NC., Rene’ Davis of High Point, NC, Tywayne Price of High Point, NC, Dekalah Price of Atlanta, GA., Devon Price of Van Nuys, CA. Qualin Price of High Point, NC and Lloyd Vincent Price Jr. of High Point, NC; great grandchildren; Jeshaun Townsend, Corinthia Harris, Talaiylah Wolfe-Price, Faith Harris and Sariyah Wolfe-Price; her sisters in-law; Etta P. Brannon of High Point, NC, Mary Ruth McIntosh of High Point, NC, Shirley Price of Washington, DC, Bobbie Sue McIntosh of Elberton, GA, Barbara Price, of San Diego, CA, Maggie Price of High Point, NC, Rhonda McIntosh of High Point, NC and Betty Price -Burris of High Point, NC; one brother in-law; Melvin Price of Thomasville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will cherish her memory forever.

My sincere condolences to the Price family. I met Mrs.Lula in my very early teens when she and my mother both worked at Anvil Brand. I can honestly say that she remained the same sweet woman throughout all these years. It didn't matter if I saw her months or years at a time she was always nice, friendly and very humble. Every time I saw her she would always smile, speak and ask about my mother. I pray God gives the family peace in this time of your loss. RIP Mrs. Lula

My sincere condolences go to the Price family. I knew Ms. Lula to be a wonderful, kind and loving woman. She was truly one of a kind and I'm so blessed to have known her. May you rest in paradise and God be with the entire Price family. Our prayers are with you all. Love, Faye Fairley Parker, Mable Fairley & the entire Fairley family.
This really broke my heart 💔. Sending our condolences 💐 & prayers 🙏🏽 to the families. Ms Lula was the most sweetest & humble woman. She always had that beautiful smile every time you'd see her. I admired how beautiful she looked for her age. She definitely wore it well. She could get around way better than folks half her age too. Always ready to get out with her children to enjoy herself. She & my momma shared the same name. It was so special that my nephew had 2 grandmas with the same name. I truly thank her for loving my sister Robin like a daughter instead of a daughter-in-law. Ms Lula you're gonna truly be missed and never forgotten ❤️. She's gained her wings now. Fly high Ms Lula & rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father 🕊️❤️🕊️❤️😭
