We celebrate the life of Lydia Arlene Kimble-Holland, who peacefully departed this life on June 11, 2026, on her 78th birthday. Born on June 11, 1948, Lydia was the beloved daughter of the late Harry and Florence Kimble, whose love, guidance, and values helped shape the remarkable woman she became. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Florence Kimble; her beloved brothers, Michael Kimble, Sr. and Dorian Kimble; her beloved sister, Sharon Dawkins, her sister-in-law, Deborah Kimble, and niece, Tia Ashcraft.

Lydia was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend whose kindness and nurturing spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She dedicated her life to caring for others, always offering a listening ear, a warm embrace, and words of encouragement. Her strength, compassion, and unwavering love created a lasting impact on her family and community.

Lydia graduated from William Penn High School in 1966. She went on to Guilford Tech to get

her certification in IT. She worked in the manufacturing field for 45+ years and was a part time manager for Boston Market for 15+ years until her retirement.

Lydia leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory: her son, Gary Holland; her grandchildren, Ashley Holland, Dorian Holland and Kaliyah Easterling and four great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving sisters, Audria K. Stewart of Georgia and Tina Lee of Riverside, CA; her sister-in-law, Mary Kimble; her nieces, Stennettia Stewart, Tamara Stewart, Shatarica Gray, and Teresa Kimble; and her nephews, Michael Kimble Jr and Cedric Bruton. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her love, lessons, and beautiful memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A Song of Comfort and Remembrance

The family lovingly dedicates the gospel selection "Take Me to the King" by Tamela Mann in honor of Lydia's life and legacy. Its message of faith, hope, and surrender reflects the strength and grace that Lydia carried throughout her life.

A Celebration of Life Service will held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
