Obituary For Mrs. Martha Lee Bailey

Mrs. Martha Lee Bailey made her transition from her earthly pilgrimage on November 3, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Hannah Mae Smith and Jack Freddie Smith and was born June 13, 1947 in Marlboro County, SC.

In 1977, she was united in holy matrimony to Charles Walter Bailey. She was a loving mother and friend to everyone she allowed in her presence.

Those who will cherish her precious memories are her loving husband, Charles Bailey; she was the mother of two daughters, Yuvonne Payne Williams and Cassandra Yanette Payne; three sons, John Henry (Angela) Payne, Demetrius William (Wanda) Payne and Anthony Wayne Payne who are forever left to cherish her memories along with two step children, Angelene McLendon and Charlene Bailey; also left behind are two brothers, Jack Freddie Smith, Jr., and James Henry Smith; one sister, Rebecca Smith; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and the cousins closest to her heart, Cynthia Covington and her four children; and close friend, Donna McCall.

Martha will be dearly missed by all who knew her and her welcoming spirit.

Funeral service will be held Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
